Commonly asked questions.

What is BlueGumAI?
BlueGumAI is a local, managed AI service for trade and service businesses across the Blue Mountains. I build the system that gets your business found on Google, catches every lead, and brings customers back, then I run it for you month to month. It is a managed service, not something handed over for you to operate.
Where do you work?
Across the full Blue Mountains corridor, from Faulconbridge and Springwood up through Katoomba, Leura, Wentworth Falls, Lawson, Linden and Mount Victoria, across to Hartley and Lithgow, and down to Penrith and the Hawkesbury. I am based here and work in person.
How much does it cost?
Most of what I do is a managed retainer, and each lane has an upfront build cost to set it up. Lead generation is from $797 a month plus a $1,497 build. Back office is from $1,197 a month plus a build from $1,997, scoped to the work. For a one-off bespoke platform, like the AAM Managers Hub, custom builds start from $9,997, scoped on a call. Want more than one? I will scope a combined plan on the call. Not sure where to start? Begin with a $497 AI Audit, credited to any work. See the pricing page.
Is there a lock-in contract?
No long lock-in contracts. You can stop at any time, and the work stays yours.
What does it mean that you run it for me?
It means I do not hand you a login and wish you luck. I set the whole system up on my own tools and accounts and keep it running: rankings maintained, reviews chased, leads tracked, past customers brought back, and a simple monthly summary so you can see what it brought in. You stay on the tools. I keep the engine turning.
What is the missed-call assistant? Does it replace my phone?
No, it does not replace your phone or pretend to be you. You answer the calls you can. When a call comes in that you cannot take, the assistant answers like a smart answering machine, collects the caller's details, and texts the lead straight through to you. It covers the calls you would otherwise lose. Try it on 02 5759 8501.
What does getting found involve?
A fast website built to rank on Google, with a page for each suburb you serve and each service you offer, your Google Business Profile optimised and kept current, and your local listings made consistent. It is also structured so AI search tools can read it and describe your business accurately.
What is AI search, or GEO?
More people now ask an AI tool like ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google's AI answers instead of scrolling a list of links. GEO, or Generative Engine Optimisation, means structuring your online presence so those tools find your business and describe it accurately when someone asks. It is the next layer of getting found.
How fast can I be up and running?
Most clients are live within days of our first conversation. I keep the process light and get the foundation working quickly so you start seeing enquiries come through.
Do I own my website and my data?
Yes. Your domain, website content, Google Business Profile, customer list, and reviews are yours and stay yours. The automation engine that runs on top of them, the tools and accounts I use to deliver the service, is mine and runs on my infrastructure.
What about back-office automations, are those mine too?
Yes. Back-office automations are built inside your own systems, your CRM, job-management, or invoicing software, not mine. Once the build is paid for, they are yours to keep and keep running, whether or not you stay on the retainer. The retainer covers me keeping them working, fixing them, and adding to them over time.
What happens if I stop?
You keep everything that is yours: your domain, your website and its content, your Google Business Profile, your customer list, your reviews, and any back-office automation built inside your own systems. What stops is what only runs on my systems: the missed-call assistant, and the new leads and ongoing management that come from that. No lock-in, and nothing held to ransom.
Do I need to know anything about AI?
No. That is the point of a managed service. I handle all of it and explain anything you want to understand in straightforward terms. Your job is to do the work you are good at. Mine is to keep the work coming in.
What tools do you build with?
Mostly Claude Code and Codex. What gets delivered into your business depends on what you already run, back-office automation gets built inside your existing CRM, job-management, or invoicing software wherever one exists. Websites are the exception: those are custom built, not templated.
What if my business is bigger, or needs something different?
The standard lanes suit most local trade and service businesses, but not every job is standard. Custom builds are a lane in their own right: bespoke platforms and tools built from scratch, like the AAM Managers Hub. Tell me on the call what you need and we will scope it together. See custom builds.
